Rich Gill grew up in a military family. His father was the Command Master Chief aboard the USS Kennedy. As a result, Rich and his brothers were transferred virtually all over the world. His high school years were spent in Naples, Italy. When other high school students were trying to find a way to get some wine after the football game, Rich was having it for dinner, and sometimes for lunch. When they were stationed in Norfolk, VA, he learned the delicate art of ‘Crab Noodling’ —-catching Chesapeake Bay blue crabs by hand. He must have been successful, since he still has all ten fingers.
